Musophyst is a term I have coined referring to someone like myself who has a passion for music, philosophy, science, and technology.  My vocation is engineering – I am a software architect who started as an electrical engineer more than three decades ago.  My career has included hardware design, chip design, robotics, operating systems, real-time software, and audio systems software.  The last overlaps into my primary avocation which is music.  I play guitar and piano, and dabble in many other instruments.  I have been composing jazz/rock/pop music since high school.  My passion for science is an obvious offshoot of my engineering background, and my love of philosophy has been ongoing since my first philosophy course as an undergrad.
